Roy's BIOGRAPHY

Roy Seaman graduated from the RAF Technical Training College and completed a short service commission before founding companies involved in credit control, sales and distribution and exporting of British goods and services.

Towards the end of the 1970s he carried out comprehensive market research assessing the future potential for franchising, which led in 1981 to the foundation of Franchise Development Services (today known as FDS).

For over 28 years Roy has led development of the FDS into a nationally and internationally respected franchise consultancy and publications group, and has been invited to speak about franchising at events and exhibitions across the globe.

As a speaker Roy works with clients to develop a specific brief that enables the necessary market research to be undertaken and then released at an event. As a keynote speaker Roy has delivered speeches and papers at events across the world, including: Dubai, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Singapore, Malaysia, Miami, Washington DC, Las Vegas, South Africa, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Dublin and of course throughout the UK.

In 2006 he was named an Honorary Professor of Beijing Normal University's International Franchise Academy. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Member of the Institute of Export.
